Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
This policy describes what information is handled when you visit hirecanvas.com, how it is used and what choices you have. The person or organisation behind the publication is the operator. In this policy, we and us refer to the operator.
Visit logs and technical data
The servers that deliver this site record routine technical information. A log entry may contain your IP address, the time of the request, the page asked for, the type of browser and device, and the address of the page that sent you here. We use this to keep the site available, to investigate faults and abuse, and to get a general picture of which articles are being read.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site may use cookies and comparable storage. A number of them are required so that pages display correctly. Others, where enabled, count audiences, remember settings, help deliver advertising or record that a visitor arrived through an affiliate link so that a referral can be credited. Cookies placed by outside parties are governed by those parties’ own notices.
Controlling tracking in your browser
Most browsers let you block or erase cookies, browse privately or add extensions that restrict tracking. If your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we will honour it as an opt-out where the tools we use are able to do so. Disabling certain cookies could affect how some parts of the site behave.
Emails and forms
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you decide to include. We use it to answer you, to make corrections and to keep a record of the exchange. Your messages are never sold by us, and they will not be published unless you give permission. Because the site covers workplaces, please avoid including names or details of other people that you would not want shared.
Newsletters
If a newsletter or sign-up form is offered, the details you provide are used to send what you asked for and to manage your subscription. Every message will include unsubscribe instructions, and you can alternatively email us to be taken off the list.
Outside service providers
Running a website depends on third-party providers. These may include hosting and content delivery services, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as videos or social posts. Technical details about your visit may be passed to them so that their services can work. Each follows its own terms and privacy notices, and reading those is a good idea.
How long information is kept
Server logs are held for a limited period and then deleted or reduced to anonymous totals. Emails are kept for as long as they help us reply, correct an article or meet a legal obligation, and are deleted once that need has passed. Analytics and advertising data are kept according to the settings and policies of the providers involved.
Exercising your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or limit certain uses, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. To make a request, email [email protected] and explain what you need. We may ask for proof of identity first, and we will respond within the period the law requires. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
Hirecanvas is written for adults who work or are looking for work. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Should you think a child has given us their details, let us know and we will remove them.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, including secure connections and restricted access to the inbox. Storing or transmitting data online can never be made entirely risk-free, so absolute protection is not something we can promise.
Transfers between countries
Providers we rely on may handle data in other countries, where the rules on data protection may differ from those where you live. By using the site, you accept that information may be transferred and processed in this way.
Updates to this policy
This policy may be amended if the site, our providers or the law change. The date shown at the top of the page tells you when the current version came into force. If you keep using the site after an amendment, you are agreeing to the updated policy.
